Sergey I realize it can be done using a sql function. Im just not sure how to write it. How would I pull in the date the automatic status was changed to "CLOSED"?

I get the same error and was told by my hosting company that its a security feature on the database admin side that prevents the field from running properly. You can still manually perform the calculation using a formula. The date is stored as a unix timestamp so its fairly simple to work with.

Thanks Sergey. I was able to use "Y-m" which breaks the year, month and day into separate fields.
I could then sort the row by year and month
