when 2 tickets are opened for same thing, usually, in ticketing tools, we can "merge" them in order to keep only one, but keeping information from both.

we can select both, and the second one is "added" to first one. this way allow to keep both information in a single ticket.

if customer is assigned to only one project, is there any way to open a ticket directly to this project without having to select it first as there is only one ?

yes but we have lot of task opened for same project. linking a task to a ticket in this case is quite difficult as drop down is too long. but I understand that task should be created from ticket and not the opposite ;) just for future, if you can add a search box with task status, should be a great ...
